Embr.love ("Embr," "we," "us") is a relationship and compatibility platform operated as a private service. We are headquartered in the United States. By using Embr, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
Account data: Name or display name, email address, age, location (city/region), gender, orientation, body type, profession, and photos you choose to upload.
Desire Map data: Preferences, interests, and ratings you enter. This data is stored in your account and is never sold or shared with third parties. Items you mark "Share to Discover" are shown to other members; all other items are private unless you're in an active Space or partnership.
Usage data: Profiles you like or pass on, compatibility scores, messages, and activity on the platform. This data is used solely to operate the service.
Device data: Browser type, device type, and general location used to secure your account. We do not track your location beyond what you provide in your profile.
We use your information to: match you with compatible members, power the Desire Map and Date Night features, deliver in-app notifications and messages, improve the platform, and prevent abuse. We do not sell your personal data to advertisers or data brokers. We do not run ads on Embr.
Your data is shared only as follows: (a) with members you connect with — based on the visibility tier you've chosen; (b) with Firebase / Google Cloud, our infrastructure provider, under their data processing terms; (c) if required by law or to prevent imminent harm. We will notify you of any law enforcement requests where permitted.
Your Desire Map contains sensitive personal information about intimacy preferences. We treat this data with the highest level of care. You control exactly what is shared: items are private by default, you opt-in to sharing specific items via "Share to Discover," and your full map is only visible to members you're actively partnered with. You can export or delete your map at any time.
Photos you upload are stored securely in your Firestore profile record. They are visible to other members browsing Discover and your matches. You may delete your photos at any time from your Profile page. We do not use your photos to train AI models.
Messages sent on Embr are stored in our database to deliver them to recipients. Embr staff do not read private messages unless required to investigate a reported abuse complaint. Messages are subject to the retention limits described in the Terms of Service — conversations may be deleted by either party.
Your account and all associated data can be deleted by contacting [email protected]. We will process deletion requests within 30 days. Some data may be retained longer if required by law or to prevent abuse.
We use Firebase Authentication, HTTPS, and Firestore security rules to protect your data. Access is restricted to authenticated users only. Despite best efforts, no system is 100% secure — please use a strong, unique password and sign out on shared devices.
Embr is strictly for adults aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we discover an underage account, it will be immediately deleted.
We may update this policy. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notification. Continued use of Embr after changes constitutes acceptance.
